When you've learned to tame your inner critic this is what it looks and feels like.
Learning to tame your inner critic is a process.
Wrestling with this part of one's self, effectively, is a process.
Desiring, struggling, shaming, denying, shoving down, and walking away from your inner critic is NOT part of the taming process.
From working with so many amazing individuals well over a decade it's safe to say that people want more for themselves.
And the fascinating part is it's not more money, a better career, a loving relationship, a slimmer, healthier body, etc.
Yes, those are definitely the things they initially come and talk about because it's believed if they had those things worked out they'd feel better......be happier.....be confident.
Reaching those things that would make them feel happier, more confident, and live more vibrantly required a deeper process.
A process that most know they'll need to do in order to feel the way they want to feel, but fear holds them back.
Fear of what they'll discover about themselves.
Fear of believing their story is too much.
Fear of rejection.
Fear of judgment.
Fear of remaining the same.
Fear of shame.
What I see EVERY TIME someone reaches out to work with me is someone who is audaciously BRAVE.
It's as if I'm sitting in the space of GREATNESS because in truth it takes a tremendous amount of courage to be willing to reach out and look at the stuff that has hurt you, caused you to cry, caused you to build walls, caused you to stumble, caused you to feel weak, caused you to sabotage your own success, and caused you to feel anger, shame, hurt, guilt, and anxiety.
These individuals are willing to risk looking silly, stupid, weak, insecure, and weird (their words) for the sake of living my harmoniously with their dreams and desires.
These dreams and desires are to feel more confident, to be able to stand up for themselves, to be seen, to be heard, to love and be loved, to not be afraid to ask for what they want, to not be ashamed of their body, to not live in shame, to not live in guilt, to not live in lack.
It's within the fulfilling of these dreams and desires that they achieve heartfelt happiness, loving and supportive relationships, improving their financial stability, and losing the excess weight and becoming stronger.
The greatest gift these brave individuals gave themselves as a result of learning how to effectively tame their inner critic was FREEDOM to live VIBRANTLY......no longer bound by limiting thoughts/beliefs/actions.
To them I bow because they are heroes in my book.
