What would happen if your story was no longer valuable?
What would happen to you if your past, all the reasons you can’t do, be or have what you want was no longer an option?
What if there was no one left to listen to it?
We all get stuck at some point in our life, if not more than once throughout our lifetime, telling ourselves and others why our life is the way it is.
Here are some examples of such stories:
Although I don’t really care for my job, it’s the best I can do because I’m not smarter.
I don’t have the money or time to go back to school, and I don’t have the connections others do to get a better job.
I’m so unhappy with my partner. He or she doesn’t treat me very well, but I can’t afford to live on my own.
I wish my partner wouldn’t treat me so poorly, and I know I should leave, but I’m so afraid I’ll be alone the rest of my life.
My partner isn’t the best, but at least they aren’t as bad as my last one.
I really wish I could lose weight and get in shape but gym fees cost so much, and it cost too much to eat healthy food.
I really would like to start my own business, but it scares me, and besides that I get by with this job even if it’s not really what I want to do.
I have good benefits at my job, and if I’m being honest about it, the benefits are the only thing that keep me there because it’s actually draining me mentally, emotionally and physically. It seems like I’m always not feeling well, but thank God I have health insurance.
I can’t find anyone because I have kids, I’m overweight, and I don’t have anything to offer anyone.
I know some of these seem “legitimate” in nature, but I ask you to really look at them.
It’s as if there’s no alternative to one’s life other than settling for mediocrity, getting old, poor health, and barely getting by.
Is that really what you want your story to say about you?
Do you really want your childhood tragedies, your now justifiable reasons of not being more of who you should be for yourself because your parents, grandparents, elders, teachers, whomever told you, you weren’t smart enough; you weren’t brave enough; you weren’t pretty enough; you weren’t man enough; you weren’t good enough to hold you back from living out the rest of your remaining days in a possible alternative way?
What if you could let those old shit stories go?
What if you could decide today you no longer wanted to hold those stories around your neck like a weighted collar?
What if you could actually discover you are smart enough?
What if you could discover you are brave enough?
What if you could discover you are man enough?
What if you could discover you are pretty enough?
What if you could discover you are (fill in the blank__________)?
What then would keep you from letting go of the tired, worn out story you’ve been so diligently and faithfully hanging onto and telling everyone?
What if I told you the only thing holding you back was not what your parents told you, not what your grandparents told you, not what your aunts, uncles, siblings, cousins, teachers, minister, preacher, even your first childhood crush told you, but actually it’s you holding you back from your own successful life?
What if I told you all of that could change?
What if I told you, you could give yourself permission to ask for help, to invest in yourself, to move beyond those old stories, and write a more compelling story that actually has a positive, fruitful, and amazing journey?
Would you say, “Hmmm, maybe?”
Would you say, “Hell Yes—How?”
Still not convinced to let go of your old outdated story?
Ponder this - Living in the comfort zone of disappointment, dissatisfaction, and depression is a dangerous state to be in. It robs you every moment of every day from truly living.
You deserve more, don’t you?
If you are ready, then get in touch with me and let’s write a new story for you.
